New Owner's 1973 Lotus Seven
SB3206
Florida

Boca Raton, Florida, September, 2003: SimpleSevens' article on the Lotus Seven Twin Cam at Wire Wheel Sports Cars put me over the edge (One Day in Florida). I had been looking on and off at Sevens for a while, then discovered your site and Wire Wheel. They just happen to be up the road a piece from me (I live in Boca Raton, FL about 1.5 hour south of Vero Beach). Went up to Vero at the end of May to have a look, I knew I was hooked before I got there. I took delivery in late June and what a gas! The Twin Cam is so strong. The car could use some cosmetics, but I'm still trying to figure what I'm going to do first. The car is solid, but I'd like to have the frame, et al painted up and possible a repaint of the body. Hayes Harris is a pleasure to do business with and I recommend him, he's got quite a selection at Wire Wheel. So it's your fault, but I'm not complaining. BTW, the VIN number for the web site listing is: S43206 Regards.

I found this car through SimpleSevens' article about his test drive. The car is still in excellent condition, great driving. It is a RHD British spec version with the twin DHLA-40 Dellorto carburetors. This means it does not have the smog constricted Stromberg carburetors that the US model had in '73. The fiberglass body does have some stress cracks and blemishes while the original paint remains in very good condition.

I have added an electric fan in front of the radiator which is thermostatically controlled; it also has an override switch. This just made the car much more drivable during the hot Florida summers. The original engine mounted fan is included if you care to go back to it. Also included are a set of stainless steel braided brake hoses I never got around to mounting. Lotus "Big Valve" twin cam engine with less than 3,000 miles since major rebuild.

22,120 original miles
Rare "Brand Lotus" wheels
Spax shocks
Stainless steel exhaust
Goodyear Corsa tires
Good top, hardly used, (I've never used it)
Tonneau cover and side curtains
Original paint
New Optima battery
Rebuilt front calipers and new pads
