Bill Rinke's 1962 Lotus Seven
|
SB1507 was assembled at the Lotus
factory and is not a kit car. Delivered August 6, 1962 to a dealer
in London along with 5 other sister cars (including SB1508 which
is in your listing). All were left hand drive and obviously headed
for the US.
SB1507 has been restored to original
specifications with the exception of current race updates for
safety. The car has raced most successfully all across the US. Brian Redman and Sam Posey used this car as a back drop for
an ESPN piece in the 1995 Monteray Historics at Laguna Seca.
Brian commented that this was the best restored 7 that he had ever seen. I have
now hung up the helmet and Old 77, as the car has been affectionately
called for quite some time, is now destined for a bit of road
cruising in the hills of the Ozarks and being entered in various
car shows. |
