Jason Harris's Lotus 7
1962
SB1481
USA

From the previous owner:

This Seven has a fairly complete history from factory to the present. It has been on jack stands in the garage and not been started for 2-3 years (last inspected in 2012). Current photos and spares list to be uploaded shortly. We are happy to try to answer, or to refer any questions to the previous owner.

I purchased this Series 2 in 1999 from Matt Wilder in Surry, NH (just North of Keene). He had autocrossed the car successfully for a few years but wanted to build something faster. He purchased the car from a Canadian who, I believe, had imported it from UK in assembled form.

There have been a few modifications to the car. It has wider fenders to accommodate Panasport wheels for the street. The rear axle housing has been strengthened with a "steggo plate" and additional tubes have been added to the front frame per SCCA guidelines. The electrical system has negative ground (earth) and an Accusump oil pressure system has been mounted. The valve cover says "Cosworth", but the engine is not original as it comes, I believe, from a Cortina. The roll bar is not standard, and is better shown in Ron Champion's book "Build Your Own Sports Car". I think it is similar to the bars I have seen on Caterhams. The shocks are Spax adjustables. The paint is a la "The Prisoner". I saw that show on KQED when it first came to the States in the late '60s.
