| 1962 SUPER SEVEN SERIES 2 SB1539 FOR SALE: reduced price -- $24,000 The CHASSIS plate and FRAME tag numbers check out with the Lotus Seven Register in England, however, the records indicate that the car with these numbers was right hand drive. The car has apparently been modified to left hand drive, along with several other unique features including the aluminum nosecone. The Lotus manifold is a wonderful original fitment. This is a great looking car that runs great and will always start. I have always wanted to own a seven since a friend of mine owned one when I was in high school in 1968. I said to myself that someday I will have one. This car has a brushed aluminum body with red wings. It turns heads wherever I drive it. I chose to buy this car because it appears very original in spite of many upgrades. I bought the car for my wife and I to drive on pretty days around the neighborhood. It does have the steering wheel on the left. I had a matching red upholstered back cushion made so that she could reach the pedals. She drove it a little but was not comfortable with it because of the very stiff clutch. We have driven the car a few miles at a time around town on pretty days since then and have really enjoyed it. Here in Dallas those days are limited because of the hot summers. I bought the car in 1997 from Gene Carter here in Dallas TX. He had raced the car some in local Corinthian Vintage Auto races. From the information I was given , he did quite a bit of work on the car to improve the performance. The list I was given upon purchase is this:
The original speedometer is disconnected and only shows 7.6 kilometers. The shift linkage needs adjusting. Other than that, it is ready to go. |
