The car is a '66,Cosworth 1500, LSB2132, chassis number 1917. I don't know much of the history. The last person to drive it before I got it was Dave Painter. He is or was active in the Lotus Club and was a contributor to the Remarque. If you have his number I would like to have it. Anyway, he raced it, crashed it, and sold it. The damage was limited to one front corner. Those repairs had already been made when I got the car. The car has a 4.11 axle.

I got the car in a basket in '82. My job sent me out of the country for a while so the car didn't get on the road until '86. I did most of the work myself except for the hard parts - the body and the painting. The sheetmetal was done by Ron Fornier. You may have seen his HP books on sheet metal fabricating. All the aluminum was gas welded just like it was done originally. The frame has all the known fixes - triangulation of the rear control arms, relocated the rack for better bump steer, rear engine mounts, seat belt mounts etc. I also moved the pedals forward about 2 1/2" since I am 6'1'' tall. The seats were recontoured so the driver sits lower. My knees are up under the dash so the small wheel is required. It was on the car when I got it. It's probably from a small formula car.

The block is not original but the carbs are and all the internals are proper. The cam has 'Cosworth' stamped on it. It has the correct Standard 10 rear axle with a stiffener welded on.

The top and curtains are original. They could be replaced I guess but they still do the job. The top has been resewed.

If there is anything I left out let me know. Oh, the car was originally dark green. I just couldn't bear to paint the body after it was finished. I also could not deal with the '50's diner red and white interior.
