SIMPLESEVENS HAS A COMPREHENSIVE HISTORY OF THE ACTUAL SB1843:
THE 'LONG LOST SEVEN' OF DEAN WATTS

SimpleSevens has attempted to contact Ed Scheid to no avail. If Ed were to provide an explanation, such explanation may be presented here.

I was informed of your site at an event at Leguna Seca, Ca. last month. What makes an original Seven? If one has a chassis made by Arch motors and has done a ground up restoration with used reconditioned original parts and it is period correct but without papers is it really less desirable?

I wonder, no question how many truly original Sevens exist. I mean if the chassis is redone and reskined and everything else changed just because it has papers, is that original? In my mind being true to originality has value. Lets take a hypothetical - 1964 Series 2, Cosworth Ford 116E, SB1843 with new Arch frame, original suspension live axle setup and prepared for vintage racing conforming to all vintage racing Specs. so not technically street legal but a really fine example of Colin's intent.I am a purest at heart and believe in preservation of the breed and would be very interested in your or anyone's comments.

I do own a Seven, in fact the hypothetical Seven I mentioned previously. I would like to list mine be it simple or whatever. The cars are great fun, and I am proud of mine.

It is a new Arch Motors frame. The number came from a name plate on a frame I acquired while living in Georgia years ago. I do not know about the originality and have no papers of registration etc. The frame was beyond repair so I purchased an original Arch Motors frame from an individual here in Calif. to complete the restoration. As you can imagine parts come from many places such as Dave Bean and others. I have been working in earnest now about three years and the car is now complete except for continual improvements. I have many photos about the restoration process including the frame if you are interested. Regards Ed
