1967 Lotus Standard Seven, green fenders, plain brushed aluminum body, red interior when new. Subsequently several different body colors including mustard yellow, magenta, and green with Lotus VIN/ID LSB21xx (2163?),
Obtained in 1967 at the Lotus Dealer in Wilmington, Delaware as a rolling complete street car assembled as new and registered in Florida, originally with drum brakes all round, converted to Spitfire spindles and front discs in 1968.
Originally with standard pressed steel wheels and tires, wider 13" rims and tires installed including Blue Streaks at a later point.
Original engine was a 105E, heavily modified with special everything internally and setup to SCCA specs up by Winklemann of Mill Valley Caifornia in 1969. Additional engines with car in 1970 were a 109E and a 116E.
Original transmission remained with the car in 1970 but an additional Grizzly Engineering modified Cortina Close ratio and shortened drive shaft were included in 1970.
Car was on a modified boat trailer when sold as a package through the Lotus Dealer in North Miami Beach to a Mr Jim Wong, an employee of Eastern Aitlines residing in Hialeah, Florida with the intention of SCCA amatuer racing.
Last I heard, the 997 engine had been burned up in racing due to leanout in 1970 or 1971.
No information since then.
