As the green flag dropped on their first event, the three
team cars jumped out in front. Charlie Moore, driving one of
the U2's was first into turn one with Jack's Seven hot on his
tail. The other team-mates followed the Sevens with the remainder
of the field following close behind them. As the race progressed
Jack managed to get around Charlie in his U2 .
He was challenged several times by the Seven of Esso Team
Tiger from Trinidad and also by a 1298 Beta Mini Cooper from
the Guyana Motor Racing Club, but Jack managed to keep them at
bay and went on to win the event. With this success under his
belt, Jack's confidence in his machine and his abilities helped
him lock up the second event as well, netting himself a trophy
for each. Team-mate, Mike Tyrell took second place with his U2.
"I was certainly overwhelmed and in a daze from my wins.
I had finally realized my dream. What a great time."

The celebration began that night at the G.M.R.C.
(Guyana Motor Racing Club) club- house, located right on the
circuit start/finish line, to the Calypso beat of a Caribbean
band. |
After the awards and trophy presentations were complete, all
were ready to party and what a party it was, lasting into the
wee hours of the morning... A great time was had by all...
