One interesting aspect of my car is that although originally purchased from Lotus in November 1970 the car was built in August 1975 and has a 1975 'P' registration, which possibly makes it the last genuine 'LOTUS manufactured 7', registered in UK, Unless of course you know different?

"After further investigation with John Watson at L7 club we discovered that my car was damaged in 1974-5 and then rebuilt with a new chassis, in 1975 using all the original undamaged bits, the proud owner bought the car 'new' in 1975 and owned the car for the next 24 years!!. So my car has an interesting past, if you know anybody who owned this car, UK reg number ETF 695J between 1970-74 I'd really like to hear from you to fill in my cars missing history file."

After much aggro from DVLA I have managed to get the original 'ETF' registration mark returned, [Thank you to my local MP] and with it UK - Historic Vehicle status Quite right too!!

I've had no success locating a suitable 'K' series engine, I'm reluctant to pay up to £1000 + VAT quoted by the various Scrap yards & breakers I've phoned, for an engine removed from a damaged or scrap car, [or as a famous US Tennis player once said "you cannot be serious!", asking that much for what is essentially a scrap engine}. I'd prefer to source a new engine, or one which I can see running before parting with my hard earned greenies, so, if you have a suitable 1800 or 1800VVC 'K' series engine for sale please get in touch, for sure it will come to a good home.
