1964 S2 - SB1907 116e Cosworth

Lotus model Super 7
Registered 1964
Chassis # SB1907
Right hand drive
I have owned the car 17 years, and am the second owner.  First owner was John Houtz of MInneapolis.  Current actual mileage is about 6800.
Engine is Ford Cosworth 1498cc 116E
Carbs 2 x 40DCOE Weber
Gearbox is Ford 4 speed 116E close ratio
Rear axle is Triumph
Axle ratio is (I believe) 4.55/1
Body color: white body with BRG fenders and nose
Fenders are full type, fiberglass construction, as is the nose
Wheels are Minilite mags, although the original 3.5 inch steel wheel is still fitted as the spare.

The car was purchased in London, from the American Automobile Club(?) and driven during his honeymoon by John Houtz. When it was shipped to the States it was rejected for registration as no local records existed for such a car. John started racing it the following summer, so it was never properly licensed for street use until I purchased it in 1988.

The car was raced successfully in SCCA and later with Vintage racing clubs. It is still in racing trim, but obsolete in terms of required safety equipment. I have attached a photo of the car at a track in (I think) 1965.
