My newly aquired Lotus seven
is a 1962 Series 2 and RHD. Chassis# (from the plate) is SB1231
and Engine# is 8G10RS19299. It is unrestored. Appears to be originally
white, then med.dark blue.
It was fitted with brooklands
type screen on drivers side. It has a single hoop roll bar behind
drivers head. Tech inspection sticker still visable on roll bar. Widened
steel wheels and Goodyear bluestreaks. Raced in S. California.
I know none of its history.
I wonder if it raced in England
also. I'm not sure what engine it had originally, but I think
it was maybe a 1098 BMC? I don't know how to decode the chassis
plate info. It has no engine and gearbox and missing the fiberglass.
It is an original car with chassis
plate and original chassis with stamped in number. I plan on
a full restoration and in need of many items. I need the
following:
Full windscreen with stantions
nose cone with grille and badge
All fenders (wings) with brackets
Hood (bonnet) with latch hardware
All pedals and pedal brackets (clutch, brake, throttle)
headlamp brackets
seat (or patterns)
Ford 109E engine and gearbox (nice to have a cosworth)
motor mounts
radiator
master cylinders
I prefer original items or exact
reproduction items only. I'm pretty "green" when it
comes to the Sevens so I need help from knowledgable owners. It
would be nice if I knew what the parts I need are off of, if
they are items used from other types of cars, such as the brake
cylinders.
I'm in Oregon, USA so I suppose that I won't be able to buy anything
large or heavy out of Europe. As shipping would be more than
the item! As I proceed, I'm sure my list will grow longer, I
hope I don't become discouraged and give up. I'm missing a bit
of parts, but what I have is in splendid condition.
