1962 S2 7
SB1280
France

Body number SB 1280 YOC 1962 Cosworth engine, RHD aluminium body and BRG wings, yellow and green nose. I bought it end of june of this year from a man who lives in south-east France. He bought the car 18 years ago (around 1987-1988) and entered some races in France in VHC category. Formerly, the car was in U.S. and the owner was Mr Franck McClain in Apple Springs,Texas.

The car is in good mecanical condition equipped with a Ford Cosworth 118E engine prepared in Switzerland (probably not original), rear axle and gearbox coming from ford Escort "Mexico". The previous owner told me that those parts are stronger than original gearbox and rear axle during races. However, he gave me the original gearbox and rear axle with some others spare parts ( 6 x steel wheels, 2 rear and 2 front shock absorbers, another Ford Escort Mexico gearbox and rear axle, 1 X cylinder head
etc...

On the road, the 7 accererates very hard (148 BHP and 475 kg) and is very pleasant to drive (to pilot). I have only two little problems: the aluminium engine cover is in poor condition and the handbrake is missing. Can anyone help me?
