1962 Super Seven S2, SB 1640
UK

In the late winter of 2005, a time when it's much too cold (for me anyway!) to be out in the garage with my full scale Seven, Rae emailed SimpleSevens with the following solution to get my Seven 'fix' during the cold winter months:

He writes: I sell a range of 1/43rd scale kits, mostly concentrating on Le Mans cars or classic race cars. I have had available for a while a Lotus Seven kit, quite detailed with a space frame and alloy panels formed over it. Full details are available here http://www.mmcars.info/MEASeven.htm

Sold by Lotus 18th December 1962 To MR. M D Kempton Now fitted with Lotus Twin Cam engine Ford box and Standard Ten axle, LSD. Owned by me since 1974 Restored a few times after many miles, and now ready for the next rebuild.

I have attached 3 really old shots of a seven I owned around 1970. I've taken these photo's off slides using a light and digital camera so the quality is not good. It was a fairly original S2 used everyday 1500 cc pre crossflow with a weber carb I had the choice when I bought it of the Weber or 4 amal carbs. During ownership I changed the Elan wheels for more modern 5.5J rims and when I sold it ,being the shrewd thinker saved the modern rims and re-fitted the Elans, I bought my present Seven in 1972 and years later still had the 5.5J's in the garage I junked them a while ago but it still hurts. The car was around the area up till about 1980 then disappeared, I would like to know where and speak to the present owner I have lots of stories and fond memories of it.
