1969 Lotus SIII, LSB2455

I don't know to much about the history of my 7 except that it was built by Lotus in April 1969 as an aluminium car with red nose and wings (long wings) and was exported to Canada. But I don't know where: Canada is a pretty big place. I actually saw my first 7 in Canada, (Vancouver) early '70's and have wanted one ever since, but that's digressing.

I also have a copy of the German registration from the same year. (9 July 1969, issued in Cologne) So after about 2 months it was shipped back across the Atlantic and registered in Germany. As an addition on the German registration there is a note that in 1979 different wheels were fitted. In Germany this requires the registration to be modified. I assume that was also the time when the rear wings were changed to the much wider ones presently on the car. This obviously was needed as the rear wheels were 13x7 with an offset of +19mm (3/4") The wheels are 4 spoke Ford as fitted to a 3 litre Ford Capri (European model) and the fronts where of a Ford Escort RS (I think.) I presume it was painted sometime during the '70s (purple!!) perhaps at the same time that the new rear wings were fitted. The car now has cycle wings.

After that the history is blank until the car is imported into Holland in 1997, still purple. When I bought it in 1998 it was the present green
with a yellow nose.

Oh yes at some point in it's life the front suspension (rollbar, springs, steering arms, upper half wishbone, uprights and brake backing plate) were chrome plated...

I would like to know more about the car's history but apart from JWW I have no idea where to go.
