Series 1, Ford 105 E

The car was an S1 chassis - much stiffer and lighter than an S2. 900# on the scales wet! 105 E on stock crank, 82 HP, CR box, Elite sway bar - necessary to keep the rear wheel on the ground. Some trick factory pieces like aluminum lug nuts. Front frame mod as described in the SCCA PCS This is a MUST. Please warn all 7 owners. It is in the book due to a failed frame weld on my car that caused a roll over at Thompson.

The car was built for me by Ian Walker. Lap records at Bryer and Lime Rock.

The color pic is drivers school at Marlboro in fall '64. the full shot
is Lime Rock '66 I think, and the other is later, probably '68.

When I called Lotus in Millerton and told them the frame broke they said "don't you have the frame mod?" I asked if they had ever told anyone about it and they said they assumed that people knew. Great! can you imagine the liability suits today.

I owned the car from 64 through 69 - don't know the number.

Car crashed at Bryer and sold for parts. I'm told that half the frame went on to win the nationals!
