After 30 years of autocross (mostly with Super Sevens) and 10 years of vintage racing, I decided it is about time to stop racing, and so rather than let the cars sit, I am offering them for sale.

Frame-

  • Excellent condition, very straight with no apparent serious accident repair. All suspension bobbins are round and true
  • Steering mounts have been modified to allow bump steer adjustment.
  • Oil lines in frame are not used.
  • Water (coolant) lines in frame are in excellent condition and are being used.
  • Radiator is water only. New radiator was built the same size as the original (which had an oil cooler in it). This has allowed the use of a larger capacity water radiator, which additionally is a much more efficient design than the original
  • If an oil cooler is ever required it can be plumbed into the oil supply lines at the rear of the car in the same fashion the Lotus 61 was built. I do not think an oil cooler necessary with the larger water radiator and use of extra oil in the dry sump system.

Suspension

  • A arms have been crack checked within the last year
  • Rear suspension arms are in near perfect condition
  • Front suspension arms have good plating but have some scratches
  • All spherical bearings are new
  • All suspension bolts are military specification (AN)
  • Wheel bearings are new
  • Cortina steel wheels (5 ½ X 13)
  • Dunlop racing tires

Transmission

  • Hewland MK6
  • Fresh rebuild by Taylor race engineering
  • Blueprinted gearbox with new bearings, seals, reverse gear, side plates and bellhousing
  • New heavy duty rotoflex joints with fail safe centering device
  • Axles have been crack checked

Engine

  • Fresh rebuild (less than 3 hours) on uprated block. Good strong vintage engine
  • SCAT forged crankshaft
  • Tilton single plate clutch
  • Scholar dry sump pump
  • All oil lines are braided Stainless Steel (aeroquip)
  • New Weber carburetor, modified for Formula Ford by Jay Ivey
  • Original type exhaust header
  • Engine has not been run on a dynamometer
  • The engine has about 3 hours of actual total track time since being totally rebuilt. Items listed as new were installed during the rebuild.

  • 2 year old Fuel Safe fuel cell
  • Windscreen has been cut down. It broke during the 1st practice session of the 1st race weekend (my shoulders are too wide)

I have the SCCA logbook for the car dating back to 1973. This is the 2nd book issued. I do not have the 1st. Car was raced in California in Late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s The identity plate on the car is a reproduction. The original plate will accompany the car, but it is in very poor condition. It was not removed when a prior owner sandblasted the frame.
